Mr Edwin Omih is a Consultant obstetrician & gynaecologist, and the lead for Colposcopy and Fibroid services at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust where he has been based since 2017. His clinical interests are non-cancer gynaecological problems such as heavy menstrual bleeding, fibroid and colposcopy. He typically sees patients with pelvic pain, menorrhagia, menopause, or menstrual disorders. Some of the procedures Mr Omih performs include Robot assist laparoscopic (keyhole) hysterectomy surgery, hysteroscopy procedure, colposcopy, myomectomy (fibroid surgery), and endometrial ablation surgery.Mr Omih has particular expertise in laparoscopic surgery for advanced complex benign gynaecological procedures requiring hysterectomy and ovarian cyst removal or bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. He is also an expert in performing laparoscopic hysterectomy in patients with high body mass index. He treats women with abnormal smear reports and vulva problems.Mr Omih achieved his medical degree (MBBS) in 2000, before becoming a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the UK in 2014. He is a member of the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP).
