About Miss

Miss Kathryn Hillaby is a Consultant Gynaecologist. She was appointed as a Consultant at Cheltenham General, Gloucestershire Royal, and Worcester Royal in 2010, where she specialises in treating women with cancer and pre-cancer, as well as vulval problems. Cheltenham Hospital is a regional cancer centre, and provides care for women from Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, and Herefordshire. She also sees patients privately, including at the Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital. Miss Hillaby qualified as a doctor in 1998 from the Royal Free Hospital with a Distinction in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She competed further training in and around London and this included an additional two years in research at King's College Hospital, which resulted in an MD thesis from the University of London on the use of non-invasive techniques to differentiate between cancerous and non-cancerous ovarian cysts. She also undertook a fellowship to be a women's cancer specialist in one of the biggest UK women's cancer centres in Birmingham. Miss Hillaby treats women with gynaecological cancer - womb, ovary, vulva and cervix - as well as general gynaecological issues, including period probems. She is accredited in colposcopy (the management of smear test abnormalities) and gynaecological ultrasound. She is also trained in the use of laparoscopic surgery, including keyhole hysterectomy. She has a special interest in managing women with vulval problems.
