About Miss

Miss Premila Thampi is an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist with over 20 years of expertise in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of gynaecological conditions. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) and holds an MSc in Medical Ultrasound from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London.Miss Thampi provides comprehensive gynaecological care, including both medical and surgical management of menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, menopause symptoms, premenstrual disorders, pelvic floor dysfunction, and recurrent miscarriage. Her surgical expertise spans major open operations as well as advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, including ovarian cyst removal, salpingo-oophorectomy, endometrial ablation, and Myosure polyp and fibroid removal. She places strong emphasis on conservative management before surgical intervention, offering a holistic, patient-centred approach to pelvic floor and reproductive health.Miss Thampi serves as Clinical Governance Lead at Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH), ensuring the continual enhancement of care quality through evidence-based practice. She is also Lead Clinician for the Primary Care Outpatient Gynaecology Clinic under FedBucks Health in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group.In addition to her clinical work, Miss Thampi has a strong academic background, having worked as a Clinical Lecturer at St George’s University, London. She continues to contribute to medical education as a Preceptor for Advanced Training Skills Modules and as a faculty member for the RCOG Enhanced Revision Programme for MRCOG examinations.A committed researcher, she previously led Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research at Milton Keynes Hospital, earning the Green Shoots Funding Award and contributing to national quality improvement projects through the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
