Mr Olumide Ofinran graduated with an MBBS from Lagos in 2002 and is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) as well as the British Gynaecological Cancer Society (BGCS).

About Mr

Mr Olumide Ofinran, MBBS, FRCOG is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Gynaecological Oncology with advanced expertise in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He is a gynaecological oncologist at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, where he leads the Gynaecological Oncology Centre, Wolverhampton (GOCW), a tertiary referral centre serving Wolverhampton, Dudley, and the wider Black Country. Under his leadership, GOCW has become known for timely intervention, surgical precision, and multidisciplinary excellence. He chairs the region’s Gynaecological Oncology MDT, one of only eight MDTs nationally selected for the NHS England MDT Improvement Programme. The team has received commendation for enhanced patient discussions, structured documentation, and measurable improvements in outcomes. Mr Ofinran founded the Wolverhampton Institute for Research in Gynaecological Oncology (WIRGO), supporting innovation and collaboration in academic women’s cancer care. He actively mentors resident doctors and has received a formal commendation from the Foundation Programme Director for his personalised ARCP feedback. In 2025, he was nominated for the Resident Doctors Award and shortlisted for Oncologist of the Year at the Black Healthcare Awards. He is also Founder and Clinical Director of The Esther Centre for Women’s Health, a private practice offering high-quality, personalised care for gynaecological conditions including menstrual disorders, endometriosis, menopause, fibroids, and complex second opinions. Operating across multiple sites, the centre is named in honour of his late mother, Reverend Dr Funmi Esther Ofinran. Mr Ofinran is Vice Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee and Gynaecology Lead at Nuffield Health Wolverhampton. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), a British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP)-accredited colposcopy trainer, and the Midlands Representative for the British Gynaecological Cancer Society (BGCS). He received formal recognition for 20 years of NHS service in 2025 and is also Founder of Esther Helps, a UK-based charity supporting medical care, school fees, and basic needs for families in Nigeria. He serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for Lighthouse Fellowship Ministry and is a School Governor for King Norton Boys’ School, leading on Personal Development and Community Engagement.
