Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Ms Smriti Kuntal has been a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital since 2020. She specialises in benign gynaecological conditions, with particular expertise in two-week wait gynae-oncology care, one-stop gynaecology-oncology services, ambulatory gynaecology, colposcopy ,Gynae ultrasound and hysteroscopic diagnostic and treatment procedures She started her training in UK in 2007 as a foundation trainee . She achieved a national training number in 2010 in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She trained in Wales and South East London. She became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 2014 and was awarded her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2018. She went on to achieve a Master’s degree with Distinction in Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery and Robotics from University College London, where she developed and presented an innovative virtual reality robotic simulation model for surgical training based on haptics and Metrics In 2019–2020, Ms Kuntal completed a fellowship in Gynae-Oncology at Churchill Hospital, University of Oxford, and later obtained membership of the European Board (EFOG-EBCOG) in 2021. She holds a Diploma in Gynaecology Ultrasound (2023) and is certified by the British Menopause Society to provide menopause care (2024). Ms Kuntal has achieved her Colposcopy accreditatain from British society of Colposcopy and cervical pathology ( BSCCP) At Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Ms Kuntal has served as undergraduate lead and is both an educational and clinical supervisor for specialty trainees and nurses. She has been actively involved in reducing gynae-oncology surgical waiting times and regularly presents her work at national and international conferences.
