Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Mr. Francis Usifo is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust and held an honorary consultant post in gynaecology at Queens Hospital Romford 2013-2019, a BSGE-recognised endometriosis centre. Mr. Usifo trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology through the London Deanery, gaining advanced skills in managing complex benign gynaecological conditions, including endometriosis, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, and uterine fibroids. Before joining Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals in 2016, he practised as a consultant gynaecologist at multiple hospitals across Scotland and England. His clinical expertise is focused on minimal access (laparoscopic/key-hole) surgery for endometriosis, pelvic pain, and complex gynaecological conditions. He performs procedures such as laparoscopic total and subtotal hysterectomy, laparoscopic myomectomy, advanced hysteroscopic surgery for fibroids, polyps, and adhesions, and endometrial ablation for heavy menstrual bleeding. He also offers outpatient diagnostic and treatment hysteroscopy. In addition, Mr. Usifo is trained in gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound scanning, as well as cervical pathology screening and colposcopy, and he is an accredited BSCCP colposcopist.
