About Miss

Ms Alpa Shah is a Consultant Gynaecologist working for the Bart's Health NHS Trust. She covers menstrual disorders, menopause ( accredited), fibroids, pelvic pain, infertility, and polycystic ovaries (PCOD). Ms Shah qualified in Medicine and completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1993 from Baroda Medical College in Gujarat, India. She moved to the UK where she undertook further training in the West Midlands and North West region. Alongside her training, she obtained a Diploma in Obstetric Ultrasound, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education. She was first appointed as Consultant Gynaecologist at Newham Hospital in 2006, and she became a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RCOG) in 2010. She is a menopasue specialist registered with British Menopuase Society. She enjoys teaching to both undergraduates and postgraduates and she is an examiner for the RCOG examinations.
