Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Miss Leila Frodsham is a Consultant Gynaecologist, with a special interest in Psychosexual Medicine, at Guy's and St Thomas's NHS Foundation Trust. She also sees patients privately, including at The Lister Hospital. Miss Frodsham has over 20 years' experience of working in obstetrics and gynaecology and her specialist interests include menopause, heavy menstrual bleeding and polycystic ovary syndrome. She performs a range of treatments including operative hysteroscopy, gynaecological scans and perinorraphy. She has dual membership of the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine, with interests in this area including sexual dysfunction, supporting couples with difficulty conceiving, intractable pain disorders, vulvodynia and tochophobia.Miss Frodsham conducted research in mother to embryo viral transmission in assisted conception (IVF), for which she earned the Promising Young Clinician Award from the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) in 2004. She has also worked extensively in ambulatory gynaecology for over 10 years, performing outpatient procedures, including hysteroscopy and scanning. She has also won numerous awards for excellent patient care and team working, including being awarded Trainer of the Year by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology (RCOG), Health Education Kent, Surrey and Sussex, in 2015.
