Mr. Richard Cartmill is a Consultant Gynaecologist with a wealth of experience in comprehensive gynaecological care. After earning his medical degree from The Queen's University of Belfast in 1983, he completed his pre-membership training within the Belfast Teaching Hospitals. He then pursued advanced post-membership training at St James' University Hospital and The Jessop Hospital for Women in Sheffield, before taking up his consultant position at Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield.Mr. Cartmill provides a full range of gynaecological services with a particular emphasis on minimal access surgery. He has extensive expertise in diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy, and his dedication to innovation led to the introduction of uterine balloon ablation at Spire Little Aston Hospital as a treatment for excessive menstrual bleeding. His clinical interests include the management of pelvic pain and the laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis.As a certified colposcopist with the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP), Mr. Cartmill offers comprehensive colposcopy services. In his NHS practice, he also leads a menopause service, providing expert guidance on all forms of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), helping women navigate this important phase of life.Beyond his clinical practice, Mr. Cartmill is deeply committed to education and training. He serves as a college tutor in obstetrics and gynaecology and is a postgraduate clinical tutor at Good Hope Hospital, sharing his expertise with the next generation of medical professionals.Mr. Cartmill's patient-centred approach, combined with his advanced surgical skills and dedication to education, ensures that his patients receive the highest standard of care, tailored to their individual needs.
