Dr. Ruhi Jawad is a Consultant in Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health with extensive experience and training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Forensic Gynaecology. Since beginning her career in the NHS in 1999, Dr. Jawad has held various positions across the UK and actively engaged in teaching and training.Specialising in all aspects of contraception, Dr. Jawad focuses on providing Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) under local anaesthesia, including coils and implants. She adeptly manages both routine and complex cases, addressing medical and surgical complications with skills in ultrasound-guided procedures and outpatient gynaecology. Her expertise extends to the medical management of menstrual disorders such as PCOS, endometriosis, and heavy or abnormal bleeding.A Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, and the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians in London, Dr. Jawad’s credentials reflect her expertise. She completed her specialist training in London at Guys and St. Thomas NHS Foundation Trust and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.Dr. Jawad is also the General Training Programme Director at the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, a position she has held from 2019 to 2024. She continues to serve as a Clinical and Educational Supervisor, and her involvement in training ensures that the next generation of practitioners benefits from her extensive knowledge.Her practice welcomes both female and male patients for a range of services, including well-woman and well-man healthcare, sexual health checks, adolescent gynaecology, cervical smear tests, and the management of conditions such as heavy or painful periods, endometriosis, and fibroids. Dr. Jawad also provides support for sexual problems, perimenopause and menopause, HRT, and all forms of contraception, including emergency contraception and the insertion of coils under local anaesthesia.
