About Mr

Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Mr Sotiris Vimplis is based at Whipps Cross University Hospital. Mr Vimplis graduated in 1994 before undertaking specialised registrar training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Nottingham University Hospitals. He also completed a special skills training course in gynaecological oncology, laparoscopic surgery, colposcopy, and gynaecological ultrasound. In 2004, he was awarded membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) and became a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2007.He then worked as a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at Queen's Medical Centre at Nottingham Hospital for two years before coming to London and joining Whipps Cross, where he is the lead for colposcopy and gynaecological cancer care.Outside of the hospital, Mr Vimplis supports charities and travels to remote villages in Nepal in order to carry out surgical camps.
