Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Dr Sandra Ampomah is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with specialist expertise in maternal–fetal medicine. She practises at University Hospital Bristol, where her work includes the assessment and management of complex obstetric cases, detailed counselling, and multidisciplinary care aimed at optimising maternal and fetal outcomes.Dr Ampomah completed her medical degree at Queen Mary, University of London between 2000 and 2005. She subsequently undertook postgraduate specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology and became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2008. Her training and clinical experience have supported a focused practice in high-risk pregnancy care and advanced obstetric management.Her clinical interests include urogynaecology, operative hysteroscopy, prevention of preterm birth, and perinatal mental health. In maternal–fetal medicine, she is involved in the management of pregnancies complicated by medical, obstetric, or fetal conditions, working closely with specialist teams to deliver coordinated care.Alongside her clinical responsibilities, Dr Ampomah contributes to professional development within her department through teaching and mentorship. Her work combines clinical practice with service development, supporting evidence-based care across obstetrics and gynaecology.
