Dr Toni Barakova is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 30 years of experience, specialising in Fetal Medicine. She obtained her medical degree from the Medical University of Stara Zagora in Bulgaria and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Medical University of Pleven. Between 2014 and 2016, she undertook a fellowship in fetal medicine at King’s College Hospital’s Harris Birthright Centre, where she trained under the supervision of Professor Kypros Nicolaides, a pioneer in the field.Dr Barakova follows an evidence-based approach to diagnosing and managing a broad range of gynaecological conditions and disorders, including endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), fibroids, ovarian cysts, and high-risk pregnancies. Her expertise also covers the assessment and management of fetal abnormalities.She has worked extensively at the Fetal Medicine Centre on Harley Street and at St George’s Hospital in Tooting, where she has managed complex obstetric cases involving preterm birth, hypertension, pre-eclampsia, and fetal growth restriction. In addition, she has gained further clinical experience at the Fetal Medicine Unit at University College London Hospital. Dr Barakova is a member of the Fetal Medicine Foundation and continues to contribute her extensive knowledge and clinical skill to the care of women throughout pregnancy and beyond.
