Miss Alana Louise Mitchell is a highly experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, currently practising at the Northern Care Alliance. She is also the Clinical Lead for Gynaecological Oncology. Miss Mitchell graduated in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2006. During her time at the university, she intercalated in Psychology, earning a First Class Honours degree. She further advanced her education with an MSc in Surgical Sciences before relocating to North West England to complete her Obstetrics and Gynaecology training. Her clinical interests encompass a wide range of gynaecological issues, including: Menstrual Disorders Pelvic Pain Gynaecological Oncology Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Laparoscopic Surgery Hysteroscopy Menopause Management Subfertility & Reproductive Health Vaginal Prolapse Vulval Disorders Miss Mitchell is proficient in both diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy, laparoscopic surgery, and open and laparoscopic hysterectomy. She has expertise in the management of menopause and postmenopausal care, as well as vulval disorders, sterilisation procedures and endometrial ablation. Her comprehensive approach ensures that she provides tailored, effective care for a wide array of gynaecological conditions. Her commitment to ongoing medical education and patient-centred care makes her a trusted figure in her field, consistently working to improve outcomes for her patients.
