Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Dr Susan Hotchkies is an obstetrics and gynaecology consultant at BMI The Alexandra Hospital. She is experienced in all areas of general gynaecology as well as infertility/fertility, assisted conception, miscarriage, fibroid treatment, endometriosis, menstrual disorders, genital prolapse, and post-reproductive health. Dr Hotchkies performs all routine gynaecological surgical procedures except for colposcopies and urogynaecological procedures.Since her graduation from Manchester Medical School in 1984, Dr Hotchkies has lived and worked in the North West, first studying obstetrics & gynaecology in 1985 and receiving her MRCOG in 1990. She became interested in infertility while working at a local IVF unit and spent four years there before becoming a senior registrar in obstetrics and gynaecology where she obtained extensive expertise in the field before her appointment as a consultant at Trafford General Hospital in 2000.Dr Hotchkies currently runs two antenatal and one gynaecological clinic with the NHS, as well as two private clinics at the Alexandra Hospital, in addition to monthly operational lists. Dr Hotchkies has an interest in medical interest and was an RCOG tutor for seven years, in charge of monitoring obstetrics and gynaecology trainees and organising regional training. She continues to develop her own medical education and attends conferences on a regular basis to keep abreast of the changes in the field.Away from the hospital, Dr Hotchkies enjoys horse riding, sewing, and cooking, as well as spending time with her husband, five children, and two huskies.
