Dr Tahir Mahmood CBE graduated from King Edward Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his post graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Scotland. He has carried our reserch in the relationship of pelvic endometriosis and infertility and pelvic pain which led to award of an MD from the University of Aberdeen. He has worked as a full time consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the NHS fife (1990-2021). he holds an honorary contract with the NHS Fife as " NHS Education Appraiser". He now practices full time in the private sector.   He has served on several national and international professional organisations to improve standrads of care for women's health, (Namely as Vice President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist, UK, and President Europen Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology).  He is fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, United Kingdom (FRCOG), fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (FRCPI),  Honorary fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP-Edin), Honorary fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FACOG) and  fellow of the faculty of sexual and reproductive healthcare(FFSRH).
