Mr Bhal has been practising in the Cardiff & Vale UHB as Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist since 2002 with a special interest in urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, heavy menstrual bleeding and infertility. He has extensive experience in advanced vaginal and laparoscopic surgery.Since 2003, Mr Bhal has developed the Urogynaecology service in the Cardiff and he have led a multidisciplinary team which has strived to deliver the best available care for women presenting with urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse in South Wales. During his career Mr Bhal was privileged to do a sabbatical at the Urogynaecology Unit at King's College Hospital London with the world renowned expert in Urogynaecology, Professor Linda Cardozo.He have also spent time at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida USA with Professor W Davilla as part of the IUGA observership programme and also visited centres in Atlanta (USA) with Drs Miklos and Moore to observe/learn laparoscopic urogynaecology procedures. Mr Bhal has undertaken training in cosmentic gynaecology with the internationally recognised gynaecological cosmetic surgeon Dr Red Alinsod. He is a Fellow of the Alinsod Institute of Aesthetic VulvoVaginal Surgery.Mr Bhal offers a comprehensive service for the investigation and treatment of urinary incontinence, as well as complex prolapse or pelvic floor surgery including laparoscopic urogynaecological surgery. He is experienced in uterine preserving prolapse surgery and works as part of a multidisciplinary team in the management of synthetic vaginal mesh related problems.Mr Bhal is an advocate of conservative or non surgical treatment options for pelvic floor problems and offers Pelvipower and ThermiVa as alternatives to manage patients symptoms. In addition, he has an expertise in infertility/assisted reproduction, early pregnancy problems, endometriosis and abnormal/heavy menstrual bleeding. The management of obstetric perineal injuries is another area of expertise which was developed within the urogynaecology service in Cardiff.Mr Bhal continued with his passion for research and evidence based medicine and he has presented work at numerous meetings both nationally and internationally. He is married to Nadia and they have four children with an interest in expanding his culinary horizons and travelling in the USA.
