About Ms

Ms Sheila Radhakrishnan serves as an NHS Consultant at a teaching hospital in London and brings over 30 years of extensive experience to her role. She has a particular focus on menopause, sexual health challenges, and complex contraceptive methods. Her initial training took place in Calcutta, India, where she earned a postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology before relocating to the UK. In the UK, she completed additional training, became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and later achieved Fellowship status. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health and a member of the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine. Recognised as an Accredited Specialist and Trainer by the British Menopause Society, Ms Radhakrishnan is deeply committed to supporting women through their menopause journey. Her holistic approach centers around the individual, ensuring they remain at the forefront of her care. She is also a member of both the North American Menopause Society and the European Menopause and Andropause Society. Currently, she chairs the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine, a field she strongly advocates for, believing in its principles to help women integrate their mental and physical well-being while addressing health concerns. Ms Radhakrishnan has presented at numerous regional, national, and international conferences on subjects she is passionate about, including menopause and psychosexual medicine. She has contributed to both national and international journals and authored chapters in several medical textbooks. Her insights have been featured in The Telegraph and Women’s Health magazine. In 2021, she organised a virtual Menopause Café on Zoom aimed at educating women in India, which garnered significant interest. This event, particularly in Kolkata, was pioneering, being one of the first of its kind to register with Menopause Café. Additionally, she participated in a BBC Radio 4 podcast where she shared her views on abortion, proudly identifying as a pro-choice physician. Ms Radhakrishnan is dedicated to educating both women and men about menopause, emphasising the importance of starting this education early in life. She has initiated workplace programs focused on menopause awareness within her trust and has been invited to speak to corporate groups on the topic.
