Mr. Georgios Theophilou is a highly skilled Consultant Gynaecological Oncology Surgeon with expertise in treating a wide range of gynaecological disorders and cancers. He offers comprehensive care for conditions such as menstrual cycle problems, pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, and gynaecological cancers, including ovarian, endometrial, cervical, and vulval cancers.Mr. Theophilou specialises in both open and minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He provides diagnostic tests such as cervical smear, colposcopy, vulvoscopy, and hysteroscopy in outpatient settings, as well as advanced inpatient treatments like diagnostic and operative colposcopy, hysteroscopy, and various surgical procedures. These include sterilisation, polyp and fibroid removal, ovarian cystectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy, hysterectomy, and excision of vulval and vaginal lesions.After graduating from The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2005, Mr. Theophilou completed his general obstetric and gynaecological training in Lancashire and earned an MD focused on “Biospectroscopy towards screening and diagnosis of cancer.” He further sub-specialised as a gynaecological oncology surgeon in Leeds, where he was appointed Consultant at St. James’s University Hospital in 2017.Mr. Theophilou is a registered colposcopist with the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP) and an active member of the British Gynaecological Cancer Society (BGCS) and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO). In addition to his clinical work, he serves as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Leeds University, contributing to research and education in gynaecological oncology.
