Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Mr. Yatin Thakur is a Consultant Gynaecologist with 25 years of experience, specialising in urogynaecology, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries, and early pregnancy and gynaecology scanning. He has developed significant expertise in managing urinary problems and prolapse, and his surgical repertoire includes performing over 500 laparoscopic hysterectomies, more than 1,000 abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies, and over 500 trans-vaginal sling operations for urinary incontinence and prolapse repairs.He is conducting a research in modified sling procedure for stress urinary incontinence since ban on mesh use in 2018. Additionally, he serves as a mentor for incontinence surgery & laparoscopic surgeries like laparoscopic hysterectomy. Mr. Thakur is also a dedicated educator and trainer, specialising in ultrasonography at King's College Hospital, London, where he trains gynaecology ultrasound practitioners. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and has contributed to national health studies, including research comparing endometrial ablation and laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomy for menorrhagia. His work has been featured in The Journal for Minimally Invasive Gynaecology, and he has presented at the 44th AAGL Global Congress on Minimally Invasive Gynaecology.He has several publications and international presentations In field of urogyna ecology and endoscopic surgery. Having completed his specialist gynaecological training rotation in the London Deanery, Mr. Thakur was appointed as a consultant at Basildon University Hospital in 2006.
