About Mr

Mr Haider Jan is a Consultant Gynaecologist who specialises in advanced laparoscopic gynaecology, endometriosis and pelvic pain, fibroids, fertility surgery, abnormal bleeding and prolapse. His NHS base is the Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and he also sees patients privately, including at The Lister Hospital.He has received several national and international prizes for his scientific presentations, which are focused mainly on minimally invasive (laparoscopic) gynaecology and gynaecological ultrasound. Mr Haider Dan also has an active interest in education and has led many nationally and internationally recognised courses for training in gynaecological surgery and emergency obstetrics for a number of faculties including the Royal College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Advanced Life Support Group and the Minimal Access Therapy Training UnitHe is also instructor and teacher for the MSc in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy at the University of Surrey. He teaches on the University of Surrey's ‘Caring for women with endometriosis' model for clinical nurse specialists who are trained to support women on the specialised pathway for severe endometriosis.Dr Haider Jan regularly speaks at patient support events, facilitating dicusssions and giving practical advice to women so that they can develop a better understanding of their condition. He is also Executive Editor for the Global Library of Women's Medicine, and has devoted time on projects in low resource settings, with the aim of reducing the number of women dying in childbirth. He has also been published widely in a number of scientific peer-reviewed journals.
