Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Miss Anku Mehta is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 20 years of experience in women’s health. She is currently based at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals, working across Watford General Hospital and St Albans City Hospital, where she has served as a Consultant since 2018 and is currently the Clinical Director for Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Trust. She also practices privately at Spire Bushey Hospital and Spire Bushey Diagnostic Centre. Miss Mehta obtained her medical degree from Gujarat University in 1999, followed by an MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the BJ Medical College in Ahmedabad, which is one of the largest tertiary hospitals in Asia, where she was awarded a Gold Medal in 2002. She went on to complete specialist training in the UK at the Royal Free Hospital in London and became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2009. Alongside this she is a member of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy. Her clinical work includes general gynaecology and surgical procedures such as laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis, hysterectomy (laparoscopic and open), myomectomy, and hysteroscopic surgery. Her areas of interest include menopause, fibroids, adenomyosis, pelvic pain, endometriosis, menstrual disorders, and polycystic ovary syndrome.
