Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Miss Fiona Cowan is a Consultant Gynaecologist at University Hospital Southampton NHS FT, where she specialises in Ambulatory Gynaecology, Advanced pelvic ultrasound (including endometriosis and adnexal masses), Acute Gynaecology, and Psychosexual Medicine. She has extensive experience, having completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at King's College London in 2009 before undertaking her higher training. In addition to her clinical work, Miss Cowan is involved in academia and medical education. She has published several peer-reviewed articles in leading medical journals and co-authored a textbook on Psychosexual Medicine. Her dedication to education is further demonstrated through her extensive lecturing experience in the UK and internationally, including in Canada and Europe. Miss Cowan has received prizes for her presentations and research contributions, including the best oral presentation prize for Medical Education at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists World Congress in 2016.Miss Cowan is a Member of the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine (IPM) and has actively participated in IPM events, including Annual General Meetings and Scientific Meetings. She has also provided training on Psychosexual Medicine courses in the UK.
