Dr. Philip Bullen is a highly respected Consultant Obstetrician and a Subspecialist in Fetal and Maternal Medicine. With a wealth of experience and a strong dedication to his field, Dr. Bullen has expertise in fetal medicine, pregnancy ultrasound, antenatal screening, and the management of neurological issues during pregnancy. Dr. Bullen began his medical journey at Manchester University, where he graduated in 1987. Following his graduation, he pursued advanced training and conducted research in the fields of obstetrics and fetal medicine, primarily in renowned institutions located in Newcastle and London. In the year 2000, Dr. Bullen returned to Manchester, where he assumed the role of a Consultant. Since then, he has been a valuable asset to the medical community, offering a comprehensive range of Fetal Medicine Services to expectant mothers and their unborn children. His services use cutting-edge ultrasound scanning and invasive testing for prenatal diagnosis, which includes procedures like amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and fetal blood sampling. Dr. Bullen has also played an instrumental role in the development and leadership of the regional fetal transfusion service, showcasing his commitment to advancing fetal medicine and ensuring the well-being of both mothers and babies facing complex medical challenges. Additionally, Dr. Bullen has established and leads a specialised joint antenatal clinic in collaboration with a Neurologist.
