Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Mr Mohamed Goda is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and was the Gynaecology Clinical Lead at Manchester Hospital for three and half years. He has more than 20 years of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology and has developed specialist expertise in minimal access (keyhole) surgery, endometriosis management, benign gynaecological surgery, and outpatient hysteroscopy. He is on the GMC Specialist Register and holds full licence to practise following completion of his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). He is a member of both the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE). Mr Goda completed his training across multiple hospitals in Greater Manchester, gaining extensive experience in both general and advanced gynaecology. He spent four years working in two accredited endometriosis centres, where he developed significant skill in complex laparoscopic procedures and safe surgical practice. He performs a full range of minimally invasive operations including advanced laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, ovarian cysts, total laparoscopic hysterectomy, myomectomy, and surgery for large adnexal masses. He also undertakes operative and outpatient hysteroscopy, offering procedures such as fibroid resection, MyoSure, TruClear and endometrial ablation. Qualified by the RCOG to perform gynaecological ultrasound, Mr Goda runs one-stop outpatient hysteroscopy clinics, providing streamlined diagnostic and therapeutic care. He is also committed to medical education and is a trained Tier 2 Medical Educator, Clinical Supervisor and Educational Supervisor, holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. He delivers an annual laparoscopic surgery course at his hospital to support colleagues in safely performing complex keyhole procedures, and has contributed to national trainee recruitment panels in obstetrics and gynaecology. In September 2021, Mr Goda performed the first total laparoscopic hysterectomy at North Manchester Hospital and has since established it as a routine procedure within the department.
