Dr Tina Verghese is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Urogynaecologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, with nearly 20 years of clinical experience. She is on the GMC Specialist Register for Obstetrics and Gynaecology and obtained her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2022 from the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery.Her clinical practice includes the management of general gynaecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, and menopause, as well as care for adolescents with period problems. She has specialist expertise in pelvic floor disorders, including prolapse, incontinence, postnatal perineal issues, bladder pain syndrome and recurrent urinary tract infections.Dr Verghese has performed over 1,000 procedures and is experienced in vaginal hysterectomy, pelvic floor repair, sacrospinous fixation, urethral bulking, autologous fascial sling procedures, and minimally invasive interventions such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. She also undertakes urodynamic investigations, outpatient cystoscopy, and bladder Botox injections for overactive bladder.She completed senior training at Birmingham Women’s Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary, enhancing her expertise in continence and complex laparoscopic surgery. Dr Verghese holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham, awarded for NIHR-funded research on pelvic floor health, and has presented her work at national and international conferences.
