About Dr

Dr Hans Nagar is a consultant Gynaecologist at the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, based at the Royal maternity hospital and the Belfast City Hospital. Dr Nagar has vast experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, training mostly in Northern Ireland and England as well as, Toulouse, France, and Australia. He has held several roles in his time as a doctor such as being appointed the local lead doctor in the UK Familial Ovarian Cancer Screening Study, becoming the Lead doctor for Colposcopy in the Royal and Belfast City hospitals and also being the organiser and main surgeon for the Belfast Practical Laparoscopic Gynaecological Oncology course- teaching consultants from across the UK on how to perform difficult keyhole surgery. Dr Nagar specializes in treating women with gynaecological cancers, laparoscopic surgery, difficult pelvic surgery, and colposcopy. He has a special interest in the care of women with heavy or irregular periods, pelvic pain, vaginal discharge, ovarian cysts, vulval problems, menopause, abnormal smears, and gynaecological cancers. Dr Nagar is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and after extended training, is one of the few gynaecological cancer surgeons in Northern Ireland.
