About Dr

Dr Karen Guerrero is a Subspecialist Urogynaecologist currently practising for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Her clinical work is focused on treating women (from age 18 years) with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, namely pelvic organ prolapse, continence and bladder symptoms. Dr Guerrero’s expertise extends to both secondary and tertiary level urogynaecology services, where she works as part of a multidisciplinary team across the West of Scotland. She has also held significant leadership roles, including serving as Clinical Lead for Urogynaecology across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde until August 2023. In addition to her clinical work, Dr Guerrero is a respected researcher and educator, having been awarded a National Health Research Senior Fellowship for her contributions to Urogynaecology. She is well published in her feild.  She is highly regarded internationally as a clinician and expert speaker in her feild, frequently presenting her research and clinical work at conferences and training sessions nationally and internationally.  Dr Guerrero supports the development of future consultants and trainees as a clinical and educational supervisor. She is also recognised nationally as a trainer and has worked with the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology as training programme supervisor, assessor and is the recent past chair of the RCOG sub-speciality training committee. She also supports training of consultant colleagues as a certified mentor through the British Society of Urogynaecology where she is also the treasurer.
