General Practitioner
Dr Christian Cerra is a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Fertility Specialist and General Practitioner with a comprehensive background in assisted reproduction. He is a member of the British Fertility Society (BFS) and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). He completed his medical degree at the University of Manchester and went on to train in Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as General Practice. His diverse training experiences have provided him with a holistic approach to patient care, allowing him to address a wide range of health and wellbeing issues. Dr Cerra further developed his expertise in fertility by working at the Liverpool Women's Hospital, where he completed his Masters Degree in Advanced Fertility Practice. During his time there, he gained extensive knowledge in reproductive medicine, making him an authority in the field. He has a particular interest in health and fertility issues within the LGBTQ+ community and has served as a fertility specialist in Brighton, catering to its diverse population. Throughout his career, Dr Cerra has been actively involved in research, particularly in the field of pharmacogenetics in IVF. His research focused on individualising treatments based on a person's genetic makeup, aiming to provide safe and effective care. His work has been published in major fertility journals, and he has presented his findings at international conferences in Europe and the USA. He was also awarded a national prize at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for his contributions. Outside of his professional life, Dr Cerra enjoys spending time in nature, taking walks in the countryside, and skiing trips to Italy. He also has a passion for kitesurfing and enjoys exploring new kitesurfing spots both in the UK and around the world.
