Miss Bhawana Purwar is a highly respected Consultant Urogynaecologist based in Birmingham and Derbyshire, with private practices at Spire Little Aston Hospital and Derby Private Health. She specialises in the management of bladder problems, urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, and offers expert care for menopause-related gynaecological concerns. Miss Purwar completed her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in the West Midlands, followed by advanced training in urogynaecology. Her expertise was further refined through a clinical research fellowship at Imperial College London and three years of subspecialist training at Singleton Hospital, Swansea. Her surgical proficiency includes vaginal hysterectomy, prolapse repair, and stress urinary incontinence procedures such as autologous fascial sling and Bulkamid injections, as well as minimally invasive techniques, including botulinum toxin injections for overactive bladder and advanced hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery. In addition to her clinical work, Miss Purwar is a leader in the field of urogynaecology. She leads the urogynaecology multidisciplinary team (MDT) and chairs the gynaecology guideline and audit committees at her NHS trust, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. She also serves as the chair of the British Society of Urogynaecology audit committee.
