Miss Carol Munyame is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist based at Spire Portsmouth Hospital. She specialises in: Menstrual problems Pelvic discomfort Ovarian cysts Fibroids Endometriosis Painful sexual intercourse Menopause Lichen sclerosis Procedures include: Hysteroscopy (under local and general anaesthesia) Diagnostic and operative laparoscopy Endometriosis resection Laparoscopic Sterilisation Hysterectomy (open and laparoscopic), Excision of vulval, vaginal, and cervical lesions, such as polyps Transvaginal ultrasound scanning She prides herself on being an excellent listener and feels that when it comes to women's health, many factors can have a significant influence on our quality of life. She strives to listen to and works closely with her patients in order to reach the best outcome. Miss Munyame gained her medical qualifications at St George's University, Grenada in 2004. She undertook general obstetrics and gynaecology training, which covered a wide range of women's health issues. Her advanced gynaecology training focused on open surgery and laparoscopic gynaecological therapies. Following this, she developed an interest in menstrual problems, which include heavy monthly bleeding, intermenstrual bleeding, and a lack of periods. She has worked as an NHS consultant since 2016, first at Salisbury District General Hospital and then Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth Uk from 2018.
