Professor Yacoub Khalaf is a Consultant Gynaecologist with renowned expertise in assisted conception, infertility, recurrent miscarriage, PCOS and the management of fibroids. He obtained his medical degree at Assiut University, Egypt and moved to the UK to complete his subspecialty training in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London. He later completed a MD in Birmingham and was appointed as a Consultant Gynaecologist in 2001 at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.Mr Khalaf is an internationally recognised expert in the assisted conception and the management of infertility. He currently holds the position of Medical Director of the Assisted Conception Unit at his NHS Trust and is the Director of the Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis Programme. Through these roles, Mr Khalaf and his team has helped numerous couples fulfil their dream of having children.Mr Khalaf also has specialist interest and expertise in the conservative management of uterine fibroids. He is dedicated to his practice and prides himself in providing truly patient-focused care to each individual in his care.He has lectured at both national and international conferences and meetings and has published his work widely. He has appeared in the media, including on ITV and Channel 4 and has been interviewed by BBC Today and Radio 5. In addition to this, Mr Khalaf is a spokesperson for the British Fertility Society.
