Dr Benjamin Viaris de Lesegno is a senior consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with subspecialist expertise in maternal and fetal medicine. With over 20 years of experience across France, the UK, and internationally, he has supported more than 20,000 patients and delivered over 1,500 babies. He combines clinical excellence with a strong commitment to women’s holistic health, offering care that takes into account both physical and emotional wellbeing.Dr Viaris de Lesegno obtained his MD with high honours and a Master of Science in Genetics from the Université Paris V René Descartes, alongside a BSc in Immunology and Physiopathology. He completed his early training in France, before relocating to the UK where he trained and worked in major London teaching hospitals such as St George’s, Queen Charlotte’s, and Chelsea and Westminster. He has been on the GMC specialist register since 2015 and is also a Cardiff University Bond Solon–certified civil expert witness.His NHS practice is currently based at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, where he provides specialist care in high-risk obstetrics, fetal medicine, and operative delivery. He leads high-risk antenatal clinics, works on the labour ward, and plays an active role in medical education, teaching midwives, physician associates, nurses, junior doctors, and medical students. As lead for clinical audit, he is also deeply engaged in clinical governance and quality improvement.Alongside his NHS work, Dr Viaris de Lesegno runs a private practice, seeing patients through Medicare Français, Wellfounded, Juniper, and Maven. Fluent in both English and French, he has a unique ability to support patients navigating complex pathways across healthcare systems in both the UK and France, whether in the public or private sector. His expertise covers the full spectrum of gynaecological conditions, including contraception, menopause, infertility, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), in addition to his subspecialty focus on high-risk pregnancies and fetal medicine.Academically, Dr Viaris de Lesegno is an active researcher who has contributed to high-impact peer-reviewed journals, international clinical trials, and national guidelines. He has presented his work at international conferences and authored book chapters on obstetrics, fetal medicine, and prenatal diagnostics. His research has focused on advancing outcomes in high-risk pregnancies and prenatal care, with particular emphasis on genetics and fetal medicine.
