Mr Pandelis Athanasias is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based in London. He practices in the NHS in the Epsom and St Helier University Hospital Trust as well as privately at the following locations:Spire St Anthony's Hospital25 Harley Street, LondonThe Portland Hospital for Women and ChildrenThe Medical Chambers KensingtonMr Athanasias is also a Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George's University of London.In his current positions, he provides a full range of gynaecological services. His main interests are colposcopy, minimal access surgery, managing abnormal smears and early pregnancy complications. He has special interest in clinical safety and a passion to provide the best possible care in a safe and ethical clinical environment for his patients. He completed a Diploma in Clinical Risk and Claims Management in 2013 and is also a member of risk management committees at St Helier Hospital and St Anthony's Hospital.Mr Athanasias is a Leading Specialist in the outpatient treatment of fibroids, uterine polyps, menorrhagia with endometrial ablation. He is trained in the use of local anaesthetic. Procedures he performs include: laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy, laparoscopic excision for endometriosis, laparoscopic cystectomy/oophorectomy, loop excision of abnormal cells (laser or loop).His expertise in general gynaecology also includes the management of period pain, menopause symptoms, post-menopausal bleeding and vaginal dryness.
